LaLiga Hypermotion is the Spanish second division, known for decades simply as Segunda. It is one of the longest and most unpredictable leagues in Europe: 22 teams, 42 rounds and a promotion race that usually goes down to the final weeks.

22 teams and 42 rounds. The top two go up automatically and a third spot is decided by a play-off between the teams placed third to sixth.

Almost every major Spanish club has passed through it; Deportivo, Real Zaragoza and Sporting Gijón are among the historic sides with most recent seasons in the division.
