Love of Lesbian built in Maniobras de Escapismo one of their most conceptual and also most accessible records. The Catalan band's pop has a carnal quality here that was more elusive in earlier records. "Cuando no me ves" and "Allí donde solíamos gritar" are beautiful songs that hold up over time. An album that mixes ambition with melodic instinct without sacrificing either.
