📖 Biography
Silvana Estrada appeared on the street of the Historic Center of Puebla, where the aroma of mezcal and the music of charro outfits mingled with the murmur of the market. At 15, while accompanying her uncle in his neighborhood band, she discovered that her voice could pierce the wood of an old violin and the metal of a saxophone. That afternoon, on a terrace overlooking the Zócalo, she began writing the first song that today defines her: “Alma de Cacao”, a piece that fuses the accordion with an improvised trumpet solo.
Her first album, “Laberintos de Luz” (2018), marked her entry into the national circuit. Songs such as “Canto de la Sierra” and “Bajo la Luna de la Nayarita” showcased her ability to combine the rhythm of huapango with jazz melodic lines. In 2021 she released “Río de Pétalos”, an album that included “El Jardín de los Suspiros”, where piano and acoustic guitar converse with a background choir that recalls singer-songwriter music. Her style, bold and experimental, is grounded in Mexican tradition and improvisation, creating a sound that plays both on the radio and in the rehearsal rooms of the city.
Silvana’s influence extends beyond music. She has been invited to shows such as “La Mañana” and “La Voz de México”, where her interviews reveal a clear vision of the role of art in contemporary identity. She has won the National Music Award “Gaviota” and the “Premio a la Innovación Cultural” from the Ministry of Culture. Currently, she is working on a collaborative project with jazz musicians from New York and maintains a series of live concerts streamed on Twitch, where interaction with the audience is as creative as her music. Her career demonstrates that the fusion of roots and avant-garde can create a space where tradition and modernity embrace each other.
