📖 Biography

In a corner of Mexico City, Carla Morrison was born on January 20, 1985, but her story begins when, at 12 years old, she found an old piano from her grandmother and decided she didn’t want to be a conventional pop singer. That night, in the garage, she recorded her first song with a cheap microphone and an old studio mic, and what came out was a raw voice and a lyric that spoke of the anxiety of growing up without a map. Her first demo, “Tú Me Quieres,” was shared on local networks and quickly caught the attention of an indie scene producer, marking the start of her career.

The debut album, “El Mal de la Luna” (2014), solidified her style: minimalist piano, soft guitars, and a voice that seems to whisper at night. “La Dama de la Noche” and “La Muerte de la Piel” became anthems for those seeking honesty in pop music. Later, with “Cosa de la Luna” (2018) and “Amor Físico” (2021), she added layers of light electronics and a more pronounced rhythm, without losing that introspection that defines her. Her songs remain a refuge for those who need an echo of their own doubts.

Carla’s impact is not measured only by sales; her ability to connect with the sensitivity of Latin American youth is palpable. She has been nominated for multiple Premios Juventud and received the award for Best Female Artist at the MTV Europe Music Awards. Currently, she continues to tour across Latin America and Europe, and her new project “Despedida” promises to explore new textures while retaining the essence that made her unique. Her music remains the soundtrack of many nights of reflection.
