World Music Radio is Jon Batiste doing what he does best: blending genres with the ease of someone who grew up playing jazz in New Orleans but listens to everything. The album has moments of pure soul, others of danceable pop and others that are almost orchestral. The positive energy is real, not forced. Not everything works equally well—some cuts are too scattered—but there is an artistic generosity that proves contagious.
