We Are is Jon Batiste overflowing: jazz, R&B, gospel, pop and soul coexist in an album that can feel excessive and brilliant within the same track. «Freedom» and «I Need You» are moments of pure positive energy. The album won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2022 in a surprising but not unjustified decision: it was the most joyful, inclusive and ambitious of the category.
