The album is hard rap, with Houston production—heavy 808s, aggressive hi-hats—and lyrics that alternate self-assertion with more vulnerable moments. "Plan B" is her best cut: dry, furious, uncompromising. The whole is uneven but has more substance than her image as a summer hit artist suggests.
