📝 Our review
With Negro Drama, Residente definitionally left the comfort of Calle 13 to build something more personal and uncomfortable. The work explores his Puerto Rican, African and indigenous identity through dense lyrics and concrete historical references. The varied, sometimes experimental production supports without overshadowing the words. An ambitious record that works better as a political-poetic essay than pure entertainment — and that's not a criticism, it's its nature.
