Paranoid is the founding stone of heavy metal and one of the most influential rock records ever made. In barely 41 minutes Black Sabbath invented a sonic vocabulary — descending riffs, crushing tempo, dark atmospheres — that bands have spent decades trying to replicate. «Iron Man», «War Pigs» and the title track are eternal riffs. Tony Iommi missing a fingertip and still conjuring this: the legend is earned.
