Hot Rail
📖 About this album
Calexico's third album, released in 2000. Desert Americana with mariachi and border jazz influences. The Tucson band builds their most characteristic sound, blending American roots with Mexican sonorities.
📝 Our review
Calexico built with Hot Rail a sound that blends Americana, mariachi and desert rock with a coherence their later albums did not always reach. Joey Burns and John Convertino have a musical chemistry that works at chamber level: every instrument has its space. A record that aged better than most American indie of its era.
