Folklore
📖 About this album
One of the most influential pop albums ever made.
📝 Our review
Folklore was 2020's surprise: Taylor Swift recording folk-indie with Aaron Dessner of The National and Jack Antonoff, far from the pop shine of her previous albums. The lyrics are more literary—featuring fictional characters and imagined love triangles—and the layered acoustic guitar and piano production creates a cabin-in-the-woods atmosphere. "august," "seven" and "exile" with Bon Iver are its peaks. The album proved Swift has more range than her mainstream career suggested.
