A Nightmare on Elm Street

A group of teenagers in an American town share the same nightmare: a monster with a bladed glove named Freddy Krueger who kills them while they sleep. In 1984, Wes Craven creates one of the icons of American horror and crafts a film that boldly turns dreams into a battleground where death lurks. The most vulnerable horror imaginable: you can't be safe, not even while asleep.

Craven invents Freddy and redefines the slasher genre. The concept is terrifying because no one can avoid sleeping.
