📖 Synopsis
In Chile in 1988, a young advertising executive agrees to design the campaign for the 'No' vote in the national plebiscite against Pinochet. With just fifteen minutes of daily television airtime, he must convince a nation that it can choose democracy. Pablo Larraín shoots the film using the grainy television aesthetic of the era, creating a fascinating reflection on the power of communication, marketing, and hope. Gael García Bernal delivers a masterful performance in this story of how a jingle and a few colors changed a country's history.
✍️ Our review
Pablo Larraín crafts one of the most intelligent portrayals of how the power of images can alter history. Shot in the 1980s Umatic format, this formal choice is an extraordinary success.
