📖 Synopsis
The summer of 1999 in Mexico. Julio and Tenoch, two upper-class teenagers, convince Luisa, a Spanish woman married to one of their cousins, to travel with them to a fictional beach. The journey unfolds along highways, through sex and friendship, revealing the real Mexico seen for the first time through a car window. Cuarón made his most political and intimate film, using a voice-over narrator to contextualize adolescent intimacy within the political reality of Mexico's transition.

9.0/10★★★★★
Y Tu Mamá También is simultaneously a road movie, a coming-of-age story, and a political essay. Cuarón speaks about turn-of-the-century Mexico with more honesty than any purely political film. García Bernal and Luna deliver their finest performances.
