📖 Synopsis

In the midst of the Vietnam War, Captain Willard receives a secret mission: to travel up the Nung River to Cambodia to eliminate Colonel Kurtz, an elite officer who has gone insane and leads his own followers like a warrior god. Francis Ford Coppola adapted Conrad's Heart of Darkness into one of Hollywood's most chaotic and troubled productions —which inspired the documentary "Hearts of Darkness"— and the result is the most delirious and accurate portrayal that cinema has given of war as a collective psychosis.

✍️ Our review

9.5/10 ★★★★★

Apocalypse Now is war as a journey to the heart of darkness. Coppola lost control of his film and gained a masterpiece. Brando's "The horror... the horror" is one of the most quoted phrases in American cinema.
