Cabaret

Berlin, 1931. The Kit Kat Club is a cabaret where singer Sally Bowles reigns with her irreverent magnetism. When writer Brian Roberts arrives, an unusual romance begins, all while Nazism rises on the streets. Bob Fosse directs a film in which the musical numbers are not escapism, but a distorted mirror reflecting the decadence surrounding its characters. Liza Minnelli is simply incandescent.

Bob Fosse used the musical to speak about the banality of evil. Liza Minnelli in the role of a lifetime. Eight Oscars, including Best Director.
