Gómez-Jurado closes the Antonia Scott trilogy with a steady hand and without leaving important loose ends. The author knows his reader has invested two books in the protagonist and gives them an ending worthy of that investment. The prose is fast, the chapters short and the tension holds to the end. It is not Dostoyevsky, but in its category — popular Spanish thriller — nothing else comes close. Satisfying for fans and hard to judge fairly without having read the previous volumes.
