Raro is perhaps the best entry point to El Cuarteto de Nos for anyone coming from outside Uruguay. The Montevideo band has spent decades combining smart lyrics with roots rock with more irony than anyone in Spanish-language rock. "Gaucho power" and "Roberto" are genre classics. An album that works as a manifesto: this is what we are, and we care if you like it but not too much.
