Macandé
📖 About this album
Diego El Cigala album recorded in Cuba in 2018. Fuses flamenco with Afro-Cuban music, with his voice as the guiding thread over piano and percussion. Continues the Latin fusion exploration he began with "Lágrimas Negras".
📝 Our review
Diego El Cigala returned to Cuba to record Macandé and the result has the specific weight of a flamenco artist allowing himself to listen. El Cigala's voice over Afro-Cuban piano and percussion creates tensions that not all flamenco fusion achieves. There are moments of genuine beauty, though some passages show the formula a little. A record of maturity.
