Every time I play this record, it transports me. The warmth of the voices, the instrumental mastery, is something you don't see every day. 'Chan Chan' is an anthem, of course, but there are gems everywhere, like 'Dos Gardenias' or 'El Cuarto de Tula'. Ry Cooder's production is marvelous, respecting the essence while giving it a sound that transcended borders. If you like good vibes and history, this is your record.
