📖 Biography

One autumn afternoon in the small town of La Puebla, north of Castilla, two brothers and their cousin gathered in the family’s old barn to play a song they had composed while walking through the fields. Thus was born “Los Hijos del Cielo”, a trio that took its name from the saying their grandfather used to say when they looked at the sky: “Los hijos del cielo vuelan con la música”. Since then, the strings of their guitars and the strumming of their lutes have accompanied village festivals, street parties, and impromptu gatherings in squares, quickly becoming the soundtrack of rural life in the area.

The group has released three albums that have become a reference within Spanish folk. The debut, *Cielos de Barro*, includes the song “Río de Lluvia”, a track that combines melodic arpeggios with lyrics evoking the nostalgia of the countryside. Their second work, *Alas de Madera*, stands out with “Luz de Aurora”, where tambourine percussion blends with vocal harmonies reminiscent of traditional regional songs. The latest album, *Raíces al Viento*, shows a more polished production but without losing its acoustic essence; “Canto de la Montaña” has become a piece that, though simple, captures the strength of the Castilian landscape. In their style, Los Hijos del Cielo’s folk is nourished by medieval ballads, singer-songwriter influences, and the energy of Iberian rhythms, creating an intimate sound that is also very close to the listener.

Today, the trio continues to tour festivals and clubs, and their social media presence has generated a community that values the authenticity of their performances. It’s not uncommon to see young people from the urban area travel to their concerts just to feel the “magia del campo” they convey on stage. Personally, I believe their ability to mix tradition and freshness is what keeps the flame of folk alive in a generation that sometimes seems more attracted to the digital. In the current scene, Los Hijos del Cielo represent a real alternative to commercial music, reminding us that the root of popular song remains latent in every corner of Spain.
