📖 Synopsis
J. Robert Oppenheimer leads the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos, New Mexico, from 1943, to build the first atomic bomb before Nazi Germany can achieve it. Christopher Nolan's film intertwines the project's recreation, Oppenheimer's moral conflicts with the bomb's use, and the 1954 security trial that destroyed his political reputation. Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., and Emily Blunt star in the most ambitious biopic in recent American cinema.
✍️ Our review
9.1/10
★★★★★
Oppenheimer is Nolan at his most mature level: the creator's guilt, the politics of science, and the spectacle, without any of them overpowering the others. Cillian Murphy carries the entire weight of the story in an extraordinarily contained register.
