📖 Synopsis
Bogotá, 1991. The tenants of an old mansion in the city center receive an eviction order from a powerful landowner who has spent decades trying to seize the building. While lawyers fight in court, the mechanic Jacinto devises with his neighbors the ultimate act of resistance: stealing the entire house. In 1993, Sergio Cabrera filmed Colombia's most beloved movie in its cinematic history, based on a true story, as both a comedy and a manifesto.
✍️ Our review
The Snail's Strategy is the most popular film in Colombian cinema: a social comedy, a denunciation of real estate speculation, and popular ingenuity as the only form of resistance. Irresistibly optimistic and politically precise.
