Inglourious Basterds

Occupied France in 1941 and Berlin in 1944. On one side, Lieutenant Aldo Raine leads The Basterds, a Jewish-American commando unit that hunts Nazis across occupied France with extreme brutality. On the other, Jewish woman Shosanna Dreyfus runs a Parisian cinema and prepares her personal revenge against the Nazi high command. Quentin Tarantino rewrote History with a capital H through the most exhilarating fantasy of the revenge genre.

Inglourious Basterds is Tarantino at his most playful: rewriting history as payback. Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa delivers what is arguably the best supporting actor performance of the last twenty years. The tension-filled tavern scenes are unmatched.
