The Kingdom

Manuel, an influential regional deputy secretary who has everything in his favor to make the leap into national politics, watches his perfect life crumble after leaks implicating him in a corruption plot with Paco, one of his best friends. As the media begin to echo the scale of the scandal, the party closes ranks and only Paco emerges unscathed. Manuel is expelled, denounced by the public and betrayed by those who were his friends just hours before. Although the party wants him to shoulder all the responsibility, Manuel does not resign to falling alone. With only the support of his wife and daughter, and trapped in a survival spiral, Manuel will be forced to fight against a long‑entrenched corruption machine and a party system where kings fall but kingdoms endure.

Sorogoyen slices into corruption: sweat, lies, and an Antonio de la Torre that leaves you breathless. A political thriller that hurts because it smells of truth.
