📖 Synopsis

Imagine crossing a threshold and the world turns upside down: trees are made of glass, animals mutate into mirrors of their predators, and time stretches like chewing gum. A scientist wounded by loss enters a forbidden zone where nature has decided to rewrite the rules. But the worst part isn’t what she sees, but what she begins to feel under her own skin.

✍️ Our review

9.1/10 ★★★★★

Alex Garland (the guy who blew our minds with *Ex Machina*) once again proves that sci‑fi doesn’t need $200 million explosions to blow your head off. Here the real monster is guilt, pain and that little voice whispering that maybe the universe isn’t indifferent… but hostile. Natalie Portman is stellar, and the lighthouse scene will leave you speechless. That said, if you’re looking for easy answers, go watch *Avengers*. This is cinema for those who prefer questions that hurt.

💬 Memorable quotes

" —What did you see? —I saw the end of everything.
" Mutation isn’t just physical. It’s existential.
" It’s not destruction. It’s change.

🎬 Behind the scenes

🎯 Natalie Portman learned to fire an assault rifle for the film, but in the final scene she used a water pistol because the director wanted it to look like she didn’t know what she was doing.
🎯 The mutant bear is a practical creation (yes, a giant puppet) and its roar mixes real‑bear sounds with… pig recordings! Alex Garland wrote the script without knowing *Stalker* existed, but when he saw it during shooting he nearly died: “It’s like Tarkovsky read my mind.”.

👥 Who is it for?

Those who believe the best horror doesn’t need jump scares, but ideas that haunt you for days People bored of alien movies with laser beams who want something that turns their guts inside out Fans of *Stalker* or *2001* who miss sci‑fi with a dark‑poem soul
