#guerrero is the room for the Mexican state of Guerrero, on the Pacific, whose capital is Chilpancingo de los Bravo and whose largest city is Acapulco. That is why joining also opens #acapulco: much of the state lives around the port.

The state has 85 municipalities in eight regions — the eighth, La Sierra, was created in 2022 — from the Costa Grande and Costa Chica to the Tierra Caliente and La Montaña. Tourism centres on the «Triangle of the Sun» — Acapulco, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo and Taxco — seen as the first destination that put Mexico on the world map. Independence history runs deep: the Congress of Anáhuac met in Chilpancingo in 1813, and in 1821 the Plan of Iguala, sealing the alliance between Iturbide and Vicente Guerrero, was proclaimed in Iguala. The state, created in 1849, is named after Vicente Guerrero.
