📖 Synopsis
A journalist and a hacker investigate a girl's disappearance forty years earlier. The Nordic thriller that opened a genre's doors.
✍️ ChatZona's review
Larsson created an imperfect but addictive thriller that changed the European publishing market. Lisbeth Salander is one of the genre's most original characters; Blomkvist is more conventional. The investigation moves with some genre clichés but the unflinching treatment of gender-based violence — never aestheticised — was groundbreaking at the time. The prose is somewhat functional, but the story pulls. If you only read one book in the trilogy, make it this one.
