Black Wolf

The second instalment of the Antonia Scott trilogy maintains the relentless pace of Red Queen and raises the stakes with an antagonist who is more than worthy. Gómez-Jurado knows that thriller readers want speed and twists, and delivers both generously. Where it can fall short is in the depth of secondary characters and some moments where action outpaces plausibility. But for its genre and purpose, it works efficiently. If you liked the first, this will not disappoint.
