📖 Synopsis
The series by Peter Morgan covers the reign of Elizabeth II from her accession to the throne in 1952, at 25 years old and with a newlywed marriage, to the 1990s. Each season employs a different cast to reflect the passage of time: three different actresses for Elizabeth II, three for the Duke of Edinburgh, and three for Charles of Wales. The Netflix production invests in costumes, locations, and script to address the history of the 20th century through the prism of the most stable and most criticized institution in the United Kingdom.
✍️ Our review
The Crown is prestige television well understood: impeccable production, a script that understands that politics is always intimate. There are moments —the episode of the London fog, the one about Diana— that remain in the memory permanently.
