Peaky Blinders

In post-war Birmingham in 1919, the Shelby family controls illegal betting and rises to organized crime under the leadership of Tommy Shelby, a veteran with trench trauma and exceptional tactical intelligence. Steven Knight's series builds a layered world: labor politics, crime, IRA, fascism, and the limits of family loyalty. The soundtrack by Nick Cave and PJ Harvey, deliberately anachronistic, makes anachronism an identity.

Peaky Blinders is pure style: impossible music, slow shots, and Cillian Murphy turned into a television icon. Tommy Shelby is the character of popular culture of his decade. Dramatically irregular but visually impeccable.
