Fleabag is the first-person story of an unnamed Londoner surviving her thirties amidst romantic failures, a barely thriving cafe, and an unresolved grief. Written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the series revolutionized television language with its use of the fourth wall: the protagonist speaks directly to the camera, making the viewer a complicit in secrets that no other character knows. Black humor, brutal honesty, and one of the most intelligent endings in the history of television comedy.
