- 50g chocolate chips (optional)
👨🍳 Step-by-step instructions
-

-
Mix with melted butter and sugar.
-
Add the eggs and beat well.
-
Fold in the flour, baking soda, and salt without overmixing.
-
Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips. Pour into a greased loaf pan.
-
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 55 minutes. Test with a skewer to check doneness.
💡 Chef's tip
Use VERY ripe bananas (almost black): they have more sugar and more flavor than yellow ones. Green or yellow bananas won't work.
📝 Our take
Banana bread is Monday's cake: perfect when you have overripe bananas and want something easy and comforting. It's almost impossible to mess up.
🍷 Wine & food pairing
Black American coffee or a latte: banana bread was born as a morning coffee companion in the United States. For chocolate-chip versions, a spiced chai tea also works.
Suggested wine: Café americano negro
