Mercedes Sosa is a beacon, and this record proves it. Hearing her alongside Calle 13 on 'Canción para un niño en la calle' gives you goosebumps, as does her collaboration with Joan Manuel Serrat on 'Aquellas pequeñas cosas'. The choice of duets is brilliant, and although her voice no longer had the power of earlier years, the emotion is still there, intact. It is an album that reminds us why her music remains so essential. A worthy closing to a legendary career.
