📖 Biography

When the track “Tusa” plays, people can’t help but move. That energy takes them to the streets of Bogotá where, in 2009, four friends – Juan Carlos Londoño, Mauricio Rengifo, Felipe Zuleta, and José Luis Pardo – decided to mix traditional rhythms with urban beats. The name Bomba Estéreo emerged from the idea of “bombing” with sound and the word “estéreo,” which reflects the blend of voices and synthesizers. The band began playing in Bogotá clubs and music fairs before the Latin scene started noticing their unique sound.

Their first album, *El Mismo Amor*, was released in 2011 and already showcased the fusion of cumbia with electronic music that would characterize their career. Then came *Bomba Estéreo* (2014), with “Yo No Sé” and “Oye,” and *Arroz con Leche* (2017), where “Soy Yo” and “Tú” became anthems. Each album maintains the mix of Colombian percussion, funk samples, and modern production, but with lyrics that speak of identity, empowerment, and everyday life. The style, which some call “electronic cumbia,” has reached international festival stages, and the band has remained true to its roots while continuing to experiment.

Today Bomba Estéreo remains a reference in contemporary Latin music. Their music is heard on radios, in global playlists, and at events that aim to celebrate cultural diversity. The band continues to produce, tour, and collaborate with artists from various genres, maintaining that vibe that made them stand out from the beginning. Their presence in the music scene is a reminder that music can be both a cultural bridge and a driver of fun and celebration.
