📖 Synopsis
C.C. Baxter is an insurance clerk in Manhattan who lends his apartment to his company's executives for their extramarital affairs, hoping to climb the corporate ladder. The situation becomes complicated when he falls in love with Fran Kubelik, the building's elevator operator, who turns out to be his boss's mistress. Billy Wilder directed a romantic comedy in 1960 that is also a fierce critique of corporate hypocrisy and American urban loneliness.
