Roleplay Chat

What's this? Lucia wonders as she enters the Roleplay Chat room from her laptop in a Madrid café. Her question about how to create a character for her next RPG triggers a flood of advice and suggestions from regulars who seem to know each other from years back. Jokes and serious recommendations mix, and Lucia feels drawn to the warm, collaborative vibe in the room.

Conversations in Roleplay Chat are varied. Someone asks for fantasy book recommendations. Another defends Dungeons & Dragons tooth and nail as the greatest RPG of all time. A third user shares their theory about why fictional characters can be considered friends. The tone is often humorous, with a touch of irony. But there are also moments of deep reflection and mutual support. Nostalgia for childhood games and TV series is a common thread.

What makes Roleplay Chat so special? Collaborative storytelling. Users have developed their own internal language, full of references and memes only they understand. There's an unwritten tradition of telling stories in verse that's stayed alive for years. Sunday nights, the room fills with users getting together for online RPG sessions. The atmosphere is always electric. There are even friendly rivalries between veteran users.

Want to join this community? All you need is a nickname and to connect. No registration, no fuss. Whether from a phone or a PC, ChatZona runs on real IRC technology since 2007. It'd be weird if no one responded to you in the first two minutes. So why not give it a shot and see where the conversation takes you? You might find someone to chat with about your favorite RPGs, or just have fun with people who share your interests. What do you have to lose?
