About Anime & Manga Chat
Imagine *Kuro-chan* adjusting her glasses while exclaiming "NANI?!" upon discovering someone in the room defending *Sasuke* over *Naruto*. Or *LunaManga* sharing photos of her latest *Rem* cosplay (complete with electric blue wig) while debating whether the ending of *Re:Zero* was a low blow or genius. Here, there are no filters: if you got excited about the *AMV* of *Attack on Titan* mixing "Unravel" with scenes from the Battle of Shiganshina, this is your place. Even the one who just comes to complain that *One Piece* has 1,000 chapters and isn't progressing — yes, that one — has a corner to vent among laughs and memes.
What's discussed? Everything that smells of ink, celluloid, and convention sweat. **Series and polarizing endings**: Did *Death Note* ruin itself with the second *Kira*? Did *Tokyo Ghoul* become a *fanfic* of itself? **Manga and existential doubts**: Why does *Berserk* still not have an ending in 2023? Is *Chainsaw Man* the new *Evangelion* or just hype? **Cosplay and crafts**: from making a *Gundam* armor out of cardboard to the drama of finding a *Hatsune Miku* wig that doesn't look like a mop. And, of course, **what no one admits out loud**: waifu rankings, absurd theories (like *Goku* being an alien *and* a god *and* an irresponsible father), and the eternal debate: is *Studio Ghibli* cinema or therapy?
What makes *Chat Otaku* unique isn't the topics — after all, there are forums on the internet for each anime — but how they're lived. Here, there are no *mods* deleting your messages for being "off-topic" if someone suddenly starts talking about *Digimon* in a *Jujutsu Kaisen* thread. There are no algorithms deciding what content to see: if today it's a marathon of classics like *Ranma 1/2* or an analysis of *Neon Genesis Evangelion* until 3 AM, the room adapts. And yes, there are *bots* that randomly spit out *Dragon Ball* quotes, but there's also *@AnimeNews*, a user who summarizes *Shonen Jump* leaks before they come out in Spanish. That, and we've been watching since 2007 how 15-year-old *otakus* become parents who now discuss whether *Demon Slayer* is suitable for their kids.
Joining is easier than deciding which *Cowboy Bebop* ending you like the most. No registration is needed: choose a nickname (though *SailorMoonFan99* is already taken), connect from your mobile with *KiwiIRC* or from your PC with *HexChat*, and you're set. The server is real IRC, no weird *apps* or mandatory accounts. The address is *irc.chatzona.com*, port *6667*, and the room is *#otaku*. If you get lost, ask for *@Ayuda* or follow the noise of the *JJK* spoilers someone dropped without warning. That said: if you mention that *Dragon Ball* is "just for kids", be prepared for a *kamehameha* of arguments.
