Here you talk about anything, but always with three things in common: the mate (and the eternal debate over whether the water should be 70 or 80 degrees), the barbecue (with the endless debate over charcoal or wood, and whether the sausage goes before or after the flank), and the series everyone watches but nobody admits out loud (yes, El Marginal and Okupas are sacred, though now The Last of Us also sneaks in with comments like "Did you see how that guy talks like he’s from Villa Crespo?"). And football, of course, but not the TV one: the neighborhood one, the dirt field where the goalkeeper saves with sneakers because they weren’t given the gloves, the one with nicknames nobody knows where they came from ("Flaco", "Gordo", "Negro" even if you’re blond with blue eyes). Music also drops in: from "Did you hear Wos’s latest?" to "Hey, play some Redondos because this got too TikToker", passing through the eternal national rock vs. villager cumbia that ends with someone blasting Avellaneda by Vox Dei at full volume at work and the boss asking "What’s that noise?".

What makes this room unique isn’t just that it’s Argentine, but that it’s truly Argentine: no filters, no posing, with that mix of cynicism and warmth that only makes sense when someone says "no, Flaco, it’s not expensive, it’s a scam" and then sends a link to buy tickets for La Renga’s concert at half price. Here there are no moderators who ban you for saying "the f*** of your mother" if Boca loses, but there’s also no room for haters who come to throw crap for the sake of it.
