Coruña Chat

Sunday afternoon and the room fills up twenty minutes before kick-off, with Carlos, a regular from A Coruña, already typing away about the upcoming match. He's been here for ten years, and his opinions on football are as strong as his Galician accent. Someone always starts a debate about the referee's decisions, and the room erupts in a flurry of messages. Carlos knows most of the regulars by their writing style, and he can tell when someone's joking or being serious. Conversations here are as varied as the people who join. They debated whether Mbappé or Vinicius would win the next Ballon d'Or, someone asked about working in Berlin and got a slew of responses from people who'd lived there, and there are always heated discussions about Spanish politics. The tone can be dry, with jokes about the latest fiasco in the government, but it can also be supportive, like when someone shares a personal struggle and gets a flood of messages offering help and advice. On quiet nights, they reminisce about old times, sharing stories about the early days of the internet in Spain. What sets this room apart is its unique blend of accents and cultures. You'll hear Galician slang mixed with Andalusian expressions, and someone will inevitably make a joke about the differences between them. There are in-jokes that only regulars understand, like the time someone pretended to be a bot and fooled everyone, or the annual tradition of predicting the winner of the Spanish football league. These quirks have been running for years, and they're what make this room feel like home. You can join the conversation anytime, with no registration required and a free nickname to choose. ChatZona has been running on real IRC since 2007, so you can access it from your mobile or desktop. Just pick a nickname and start typing – it's that simple. It would be unusual if nobody replied within the first two minutes, given how eager everyone is to chat about the latest news or just shoot the breeze.
