Casas de Reina Chat

It’s 10 p.m. On a rainy Thursday when Carlos, a 38‑year‑old accountant from Granada, types in #casasdeReina after a long shift. He’s already here three times a week, but tonight he’s looking for a place to vent about the new tax law that’s making his clients’ heads spin. He joins from his kitchen table, a cup of coffee trembling in his hand, and the room’s familiar buzz greets him instantly.

Here, the topics swing from the absurd to the practical. One minute someone asks if the 2025 budget will finally include a “fiscal holiday” for freelancers, and the next a debate erupts over whether the Spanish football team will win the Champions League again. A regular posts a photo of his garden and asks for advice on the best tomato varieties for the Andalusian climate, while another shares a recipe for “tapas de chorizo” that’s been passed down for generations. The conversations mix dry humor, heated arguments, and genuine support when someone confides about a family crisis or a job offer abroad.

No other room captures that same mix of regional pride and cross‑border curiosity. The unofficial “mañana” hours are when the chat lights up with people from Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, and even a few from Valencia who joke about the “real” Spanish accent. Inside, there’s an inside joke about a user who keeps sending the same meme about “the king’s houses” (hence the name), and a tradition of posting a photo of the sunrise over the Andalusian horizon every Sunday morning. The room’s rhythm is unpredictable, but the sense of belonging is unmistakable.

Just type your nickname into the ChatZona client or the web chat, pick the #casasdeReina channel, and you’re in. No registration, no ads, just real people. ChatZona has been running on real IRC since 2007, so the connection feels almost nostalgic. It would be unusual if nobody replied within the first two minutes.
