Neuromancer

Gibson wrote Neuromancer without really understanding how computers work and got the internet almost exactly right. Case is the archetypal cyberpunk antihero: addicted, betrayed, brilliant. The prose moves in bursts — accumulative, unforgiving to the inattentive reader. Forty years later the future he imagined still feels plausible, which says everything about his anticipatory power.
