Homo Deus
📖 Synopsis
After Sapiens, Harari looks to the future: technology, data and the quest for immortality. Unsettling and brilliant.
Harari writes with a novelist's fluency and a philosopher's ambition, which has both advantages and risks. Homo Deus is stimulating and unsettling in equal measure: the thesis about dataism as a new religion is provocative and coherent. Some predictions have already aged poorly (the AI he describes in 2015 differs from what exists today), but the capacity to ask uncomfortable questions about the species' future remains sharp. Essential reading for those who have already read Sapiens.
