Circe
📖 Synopsis
The Odyssey's sorceress tells her own story of gods, exile and power. Miller rewrites the myth through a feminist lens.
✍️ ChatZona's review
Miller took Circe — the witch who turns men into pigs in the Odyssey, mentioned in passing — and gave her an entire novel. The result is one of the finest feminist rereadings of Greek myth: Circe learns to know her power, loses it, recovers it, and learns to use it without asking permission. Miller's prose is elegant and full of imagery, and the mythic journey structure holds without feeling forced. For lovers of mythology and literary fantasy.
